Learn more about the basics of CLAY and how to use it effectively for activities with young children – aged 2-12 years. Our 2 hour hands-on incursion will teach your staff lots of useful techniques, projects and tips for working with clay in your educational setting.
We will cover:
– The different types of clay suitable to use and a guide to their different applications.
– How to store and re-use clay. Space requirements and drying of clay items.
– Basic construction techniques: slab, coils, pinch-pots and joints.
– Textural effects.
– Painting and finishing clay items.
– Useful projects to make.
– Questions and answers.
We come to you, and can accommodate up to 15 participants in the workshop – for the rate of $220 (includes GST)
A Little Creative will supply all the basic materials, tools and reference materials that will be used in the workshop.
Your centre needs to provide enough tables and chairs for the workshop participants to work at, in an area that is appropriate for working with clay. Provision of some tea/coffee/biscuits for staff during the workshop is ideal, and also requesting that staff wear an apron or clothes suitable for getting messy in.
